The history of the skip bin, or otherwise known as the mini bin is somewhat of a mystery. They are thought to have originated in the UK in the early 1970’s. The first skip bins started appearing on the east coast of Australia in the late 1970’s. The main reason for the skip bin inception was to cater for the construction industry’s need to easily remove large amounts of debris from building demolition sites. As the population started to surge throughout Australia, a major construction phase commenced.
